Today, we face a tough decision—do we bungee jump off the iconic Hillary Bridge? You’ll have to watch to find out! After crossing the bridge and snapping some photos with my banner, we begin the grueling ascent to Namche Bazaar. This climb may be less than 2.5 miles (4 km), but don’t let the distance fool you—it’s a relentless 1,650-foot (505 m) elevation gain through steep switchbacks and thinning air. What should take around two hours ends up taking us four as we battle fatigue and altitude. Was it worth it? Absolutely. The views are unreal, and the sense of accomplishment? Even better. Join us on this epic journey, and stay tuned—next episode, we finally enter Namche

We just reached the teahouse in Namche Bazaar after a brutal 5+ hour climb from Jorsalle. We started around 7 a.m., crossed iconic suspension bridges, and pushed through steep switchbacks at high altitude to get here. Now—tired, breathless, and completely in awe—we’re resting and preparing to acclimatize. Tomorrow, we trek to the Everest View Hotel and visit the Sherpa Museum. This isn’t just a physical journey. It’s part of my author’s pilgrimage—filmed on location in Nepal as I walk in the footsteps of my characters from A Journey to the Heart of Kumari.

Today we’re resting at Tengboche, one of the most sacred stops on the way to Everest Base Camp. I take a quick walk from our table at the teahouse to explore the famous Tengboche Monastery, admire the Himalayan giants (Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse), and reflect on elevation, prayer stones, and scratched-out trail signs. We’ve climbed nearly 600 meters (1,970 feet) this morning to reach 3,860 meters above sea level—and it shows. From 5G towers to sacred stupas, it’s a place where the ancient and modern collide… beautifully.
📖 A Journey to the Heart of Kumari is inspired by these very paths—walk in the footsteps of my characters through Nepal’s mystical trails.
